Plöntutíð is a platform for theatre- and performance makers who attempt to create work that is free of human centred storytelling traditions. The aim of the festival is to support innovation and development of artistic ideas that use eco-dramaturgy as a starting point.

Plöntutíð was held for the first time 4th-6th of September 2020 in Reykjavik and for the second time 3rd-5th of September 2021 in the greater Reykjavik area. The festival has its third run 2022 in Iceland with events that pop up in correlation with the seasons and in Finland in August as Kasviaika.
